Pontoon Quick Verdict
Is this game cool?
I think it is. The Five Card Trick is what makes it stand out for me: drawing four low cards and chasing a fifth can at times be more exciting than simply trying to hit 21. Flexible doubling is also a nice addition, and the 99.62% RTP is excellent for a table game.
Is this game old?
Yes, more than 100 years old. The game evolved from Vingt-Un, which was documented in Britain by 1800. Pontoon’s recognizable British form dates back to around World War I. The first modern online version was already being offered by Real Time Gaming in 2004.

This free Pontoon game is very similar to online Blackjack (21) and is found at many online casinos. What makes it attractive is the relatively low house edge. It feels familiar to blackjack players, but its different hand rankings and rules give it a strategy of its own.
